Last day

On the way out, being helped with boxes, my thought for one of my colleagues was "Scarecrow, I'm going to miss you most of all."  Didn't say it.  Instead channeled my inner activist by throwing my fist in the air and saying, "Onward and upward, Obama!"  Not sure what I meant, but it got a laugh.

First Lay-Off Day

...and today was the eye operation, scheduled the previous month.  Thank goodness I still have health insurance until the end of the month.  No general, awake for the entire procedure and I saw (or thought I saw) little instruments sucking out vitreous fluid, odd swirling round images flushing through.  All is well...eye patch protecting the delicate eye for now.  Oh so soon on to the job hunt.... 

Pre last day before the lay off and numbness has set in...felt little emotion after blubbering the previous week.  Little solace in lunches and sad faces.  Now that the shock of it (why moi?) has faded the reality is oddly calming, then the cold slap of a money thought hits and panic comes back.  Old dream image seems appropriate to begin.
